Lettuce.

I've been diligently making my own lunch and dinner for the past week. No more eating out as I need to save money and eat HEALTHY!!
For the 1st week I've been eating Iceberg lettuce and got kind of sick of it, so I switched things up and decided to try the red leaf lettuce. It looks a lot messier and I had to cut it all up and put it into a salad bowl to store it. Out of curiosity, because this is what nerds like me do, I "googled" red leaf lettuce to find out how types of lettuces differ from one another.
To my surprise, the read leaf lettuce is a lot more healthier! :) Contains higher levels of Vitamin A and B!!



Anyways, this is what I had for lunch:

Chicken salad recipe: (in no particular order, since salad is easy to make)
- spinach
- red lettuce head
- onions
- tomatoes
- green onion
- sprinkle lemon on top
- chicken breast thats cut up nicely, fried with sesame oil and lemon juice.
- pumpkin seeds

For snack:
- low fat yogurt with whole wheat cereal and honey almond granola.
- an apple
- a handful of roasted sunflower seeds.

Dinner:
Boil:
- Tofu
- bak choi
- fish balls
- tomatoes.
- vermicilli

Kevin says my diet is stupid and I am so peeved. I'm not being unhealthy...I'm eating!! But I did take his advice and is now eating healthier..not by turning into a vegetarian then binging on food I love. (The Canada food guide really helps).

Also I TRY to do my workouts at night. I admit, it looks silly when I do it but it is actually really hard! Here's the video I got my workout from:


I did modify it, I don't use dumb-bells and instead of crawling around I do my situps: 100 of them.

Hey Doris! How are you? I go through ur blogs and of coz I was reading bout ur diet thinging...hahahhaa :) do you know its dangerous when you get into diet..it doesnt help you much in losing weight BUT it does help you in getting SICKNESS! especially all the cancer thinging :)I tried once diet..but after I read some books about it so I stop. But, just control your foods thats IMPORTANT! Like what your doing now... Anyway, Im proud of you! You do some exercise there! Tats good! So, good luck in ur diet thinging....Eh, when are you and Linzhi coming back to Miri? missing both you lor...

Oh girl, one day we need to sit down and talk about health with you. LOL. As long as you stick to smaller proportions (i.e. 6 small meals rather than 3 large meals with snacks) and the Canadian Food Guide (meaning not just veggies, but ALL of the food group), get enough sleep (because lack of sleep slows down your metabolism and causes you to gain weight), and eat a nice big breakfast in the morning (to kick start your metabolism of the day) helps you maintain a healthy body weight. Also, not eating past 8pm and eating after a workout tends to be best because you can burn it off faster. There, those are my nursing recommended diet tips for you!
